“How to find your purpose then monetize that into a social impact business and become a social entrepreneur who makes a difference.“
The foundation of any purpose-driven business is to get clarity on your purpose first before you can integrate that into what your business idea is. Especially, to get clarity on details of your life purpose that give us clues as to the best business idea for you to pursue. In order to get that clarity of purpose you need to know:
- What you’re looking for;
- How to find your purpose;
- Who you need to be to get that clarity that will then give you the confidence to take action and turn that into a purpose-driven business.
Purpose is such a broad, vague and ethereal topic. This is one of the biggest complaints I hear from social entrepreneurs looking to integrate their life purpose into their business startup. When you know what you’re looking for you have something specific to focus on when you go looking for that clarity on your life purpose.
Then when you find the details, it not only makes sense to you, you have confidence you have got it right in a way that you have practical application to formulate the best business idea for you. Getting the right kind of clarity that gives you the confidence that you’re on the right track to start the right business is very important. If you set out on the wrong track, following a false purpose, and doing the wrong things, you will end up in the wrong place. And when you find yourself in the wrong place, you will never feel fulfilled, you won’t be able to create the impact you want to, or make the money you desire.
When you get your clarity right you can achieve your right mission with the right money and make the difference you were born to make. Therefore, to create a purpose-driven business, you need to know exactly what to look for. The biggest reason why so many people end up going around in circles when they try to create a purpose-driven business, is because they don’t know what to look for.
I will show you how to save a lot of time, maybe even years, when you know what elements of your purpose to look for, where to find them, and how to integrate them into your business or business idea. Get this right and everything changes.
Getting half the clarity and building your business on half of a foundation, only leads to struggle. You will find it very challenging to attract clients into your business, whose lives you can make a difference in. You can also struggle to build a sustainable income.
What To Look For To Get Clarity Of Purpose
Most entrepreneurs make the big mistake of thinking their life purpose is as narrow as a project, business type, or sentence. You don’t want to be looking for a specific job, business or endeavour that you think might define your purpose because your purpose is not a job, business, project or charity, and neither is it limited to a sentence.
The reason for that is that your life purpose cannot be made redundant. But a certain skillset, job, business, charity can be made redundant and get replaced with technology or social advancements. Same for a sentence. You can always change a sentence, be in opposition to it, or switch the words around. Your purpose can’t be a sentence, because purpose is constant in its general form.
I’ve said purpose is a very broad, non-specific, ethereal in nature. This is one of the reasons why a psychic might be able to tell you what they think your purpose is in one sentence, and it will mean nothing to you. It may even lead to even more confusion when trying to use that to figure out the right business idea for you.
Particularly if you’re trying to find answers as to what type of business that is fulfilling your purpose, and then how to monetize that purpose. You can’t monetize something broad or ethereal. You need to start by looking at the details of how you are here to evolve, and how you’re here to help others in the specifics of your life purpose. Not the generalities.
“The Difference Is In The Detail”
Details of your life purpose, specifically how you’re here to evolve yourself, and how you’re here to evolve others, is what will give you the meaningful clarity, so you can then start to get your business idea and business model together. This is also where you make the greatest social impact in your business, because it’s aligned to your life’s mission (the doing part of your life purpose).
When you know what you’re looking for to get that clarity of purpose, and how that helps you formulate your business idea, you have clear direction on your way forward. I’ve noticed for myself and my clients, that there’s often a relief that happens in your mind. You feel relieved partly because you know you’re going to find your way.
There is nothing wrong with you because you couldn’t get the clarity by the way. You just don’t have the details or the right information to get you what you were looking for. Once you know what to look for, you start to make sense of what has been presenting in your life and what you’ve been thinking. The fog starts to lift and the path begins to clear.
Here’s the other thing about building a solid foundation of clarity – you also need to watch out that you’re not following a false purpose and getting mislead down a lesser path that won’t produce any results for you, either in terms of really fulfilling your passion, or producing the sustainable income you also want in your business.
Most people don’t want to get this piece wrong. They want to get it correct the first time around, but then they try to figure it out in their head, which is not where all the details of your life purpose can be found. If you want to be on the right track the first time, so you don’t have to start again, you’ll want to learn more about how you actually find that life purpose.
Purpose is a spiritual concept so you can’t figure out it in your head in a way that will have meaning and clarity for you. Particularly if you’re wanting to build a purpose-driven business.
You have to go to Spirit. Specifically, your Soul’s Mission Blueprint contained in the spiritual being of you. This is the part of you that has your best life mapped out for you already.
Knowing where to look and what to look for to clarify your life purpose is super important to grasp for two reasons.
- Most work on purpose that is taught is so vague because it’s either figured out in the head or by listening to false guidance that is vague. That can have you following the wrong path that only leads to less than satisfactory results like starting a business that won’t work for you!
- You can give yourself a sense of purpose just to feel on purpose, but this won’t mean you’re actually following your Life Purpose in your business. This leads to you following a false purpose. It doesn’t seem that way at first, but a year or two later, if the information on your soul mission blueprint isn’t being followed, it activates to disrupt what you’re doing so you get back on track.
For me personally, that looked like getting cancer twice because I was way off track even though I didn’t think I was – I had given myself a sense of purpose in my other business at the time just to feel on like I was on track. But I wasn’t because a few years later I started waking up with no motivation for my business. Things got tough, I started to struggle and even wanted to quit. Something was out of alignment and life started to slow down and enter struggle, as it waited for me to get back into alignment.
You’ll get the detailed specifics of that alignment to your life’s purpose, and all the detailed Information of your life path, business is best to start, from your Soul’s Mission Blueprint which can mostly be accessed in your subconscious mind and through your Soul’s way of sending your clues and direction.
That means you’re going to need to learn how your Soul communicates with you, and how to enter your subconscious mind to make the unconscious conscious. The entire picture of your life path lies deeper than your mind. There’s no escaping the need to get out of your mind and do some deep diving into your Soul’s template to find the clues that have been left throughout your life and clues that are presenting themselves.
The biggest benefit of building your business idea around the information you can find on your Soul’s Mission Blueprint, is that it is accurate to the detail. It will have you following your true path in life which is the one that leads to your best life. This true path is the path of least resistance to the success of your mission and the unleashing of your higher potential.
Who Do You Need To Be To Get Clarity Of Purpose?
Most people focus on the doing and not the being aspect of getting clear on their life purpose and how that can align to their business or new business idea. They want to know what they need to do to get the clarity, but rarely ask who do I need to be to get that clarity. Or what being states do I need to be in so my purpose becomes clear and understandable. Yet what you need to be and how you need to show up is 95% of your success.
There are 4 core being states you need to be in to be easily lead to your purpose. Commitment is the obvious one. Commit to the search for your life purpose and the right business idea for you will be the difference between flow and struggle once you launch.
When you commit to the entire process, you will find your flow. If you quit halfway, you end up in struggle because you don’t have the whole picture. It’s much like this blog. If you commit to reading the entire blog all the way to the end, you’ll get the whole picture.
But if you quit halfway through, you won’t get the whole picture, which ultimately means you won’t learn enough to create the necessary changes that are required in your life and your business. And before you know it, you will be back in the same place as you were before you started on this new journey.
In order to get clarity for your purpose-driven business direction, it is important to be in the state of commitment. You need to be committed and focused on finding all of the details that give you the confidence that you have the right foundation for your business.
Something happens when you commit to the process of finding all the details of your purpose and when you commit to your dream of turning that into an impactful fulfilling business.
Providence steps in.
You may have heard of this quote reputed to have been said by Goethe.
“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred.
A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favour all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it!”
The biggest benefit of being committed to the quest for clarity of your life purpose then is not just that you find your path of fulfillment, but that providence steps in! All manner of magic begins to gravitate toward you to assist you.
In this post, I have just outlined the first foundational piece to my “From Purpose To Profit Map”.
